Delfino's OPSS800 series of infrared suspended solids (SS) digital sensors can be used with our digital controllers. It is based on the 90° infrared scattering method based on the ISO7027 standard, the suspended solids value of the sample is measured according to the intensity of light scattered by the suspended particles in the water sample. The measurement is stable and accurate, and it can continuously monitor the suspended solids value of the aqueous solution.

Why measure the suspended solids in the surfacewater?
Excessive suspended solids content will make the water turbid, affect the appearance of the water, and reduce the transparency of the water. Suspended matter will hinder the diffusion of dissolved oxygen to the lower part of the water body, affect the respiration and metabolism of aquatic organisms, and even cause suffocation and death of fish. The water body contains too much suspended matter, which will hinder the convection of surface water and deep water, and cause the siltation of river channels and reservoirs.
