Conductivity or specific conductivity refers to how electricity is conducted in a medium. We know water is electrified, which is why we don't swim in a thunderstorm or use a hairdryer in the bathtub. However, water itself is not a good conductor of electricity. For water to be electrified, ions must exist. The conductivity of water is often measured in industrial and environmental applications as a simple way to determine the number of ions present.
The DRFN conductivity transmitter is an analytical transmitter that can monitor the conductivity level of a given solution in industrial processes, pharmaceutical production and water quality monitoring.
In contrast, resistivity transmitters monitor how strongly the solution blocks the current. Conductivity transmitters provide a reliable interface for process and moisture measurement, including a user-friendly touchscreen interface for simplified operation.
